A lifelong Texarkana resident, Richard Sexton is driven to work hard and do for others and to teach his children the same ethic. He has been a local businessman for many years in Texarkana, starting out as a manager with Wal Mart Stores, Incorporated, and later venturing into the then groundbreaking cellular industry, owning and operating several stores in town. When he felt a need to do more for others, his search led him to insurance, where he found his calling. Richard feels that being an insurance agent helps him achieve his goal of helping others by showing his clients how to protect their families and themselves. Being able to save them money on good coverage in the process is also very important to him, and he knows that being able to save in certain areas will endeavor his customers to be sure they will have all the coverage they need for different things.
Richard married his wife, Jeannie, twenty years ago and they reside in Texarkana, Arkansas. They have three sons; Taylor is eighteen and will be attending college at Baylor in the fall; Seth, their twelve year old, excels in academics and is involved in scouting, as well as the EAST program at his school; and Alex, the youngest of the three, is like most ten year olds and is into anything that he find exciting or interesting at the moment. The Sextons are members at First Presbyterian Church, where they are very active. Richard is both an Elder and an active deacon.
Richard's love for the outdoors and helping the youth of our community led him to become active in the Boy Scouts of America some years back. He is a Scout Leader with Troop 8, as well as program director for Scout-O-Rama, a Four States event held by the Caddo Area Council each year, for the southwest Arkansas region. It is his hope that by working with youth and continuing to serve his clientele with the best service he can, that he will instill a lasting legacy that his children will continue.
